Three. This is my number. The sum of reasons why I continue to go on. One: She needs me. Two: I have to protect her. And three: With her, I feel human. But the weight of a man’s secrets is a thousand pounds on his shoulders. Two thousand more on his chest. Trapping him. Crushing him. My secrets are slaughtering me. Fear and regret—of what I’ve done, of whom I’ve become, and of what I’ve let go—are dragging me into a hole, and I can’t claw my way out. The deeper I sink, the farther I push her away. The farther she goes, the more my mind spirals. Down into a black abyss. It’s dark here. So damn dark. She needs to know what I’ve done. I have to tell her. But how can I battle the darkness if I lose my light? This is what my life is now. I’m a shadow of a man in a scarred body, longing to live again. All right, so I’ll admit that maybe steamy, impulsive sex isn’t the ideal way to cope with a total stranger wandering into your beach house unannounced. But discovering that my anonymous lover is none other than Shane-the-Pain Becker, the dirtbag spawned only to torment me throughout adolescence...well, somebody kill me now. To add insult to injury, there’s a major hurricane bearing down on us and we’re stuck together for the duration. I don’t know which force of nature scares me the most – Hurricane Elliott or Shane. *** Never in my wildest dreams would I have envisioned a scenario where Melanie Lane would be wrapping her sweet legs around me. Scratch that – there were, in fact, an abundance of wild dreams where Felony Melanie was concerned. I just never thought I had a chance in hell of making them reality. I mean, the girl thinks I’m sewer scum and always has. Even now. She still believes I’m not good enough for her. I’m assuming that’s why she seems bound and determined to shut me out. She keeps insisting this is just sex. But as long as the hurricane keeps her trapped in my arms, I will make it my mission to convince her otherwise.Purchase Today! **Limited release price of 99 cents – will go up after the holidays are over!**
Excerpt “I’m not going anywhere, Felony.” “I really wish you’d stop calling me that.” “Sorry. Old habits die hard.” One hand leisurely drops down to pop open the snap of his jeans. I take another step back, almost tripping over my own feet in the process. “Uh. What do you think you’re doing?” “I’m about to jump in the shower. Care to join me?” Yes, I most certainly would. “No, I most certainly would not!” “You sure?” Cocking his head, he eyes me up and down with a look that’s positively indecent. “Call me crazy, but I got the distinct impression that you enjoy getting wet.” “I can get wet just fine without your help, thank you very much.” “Mm. I bet you can.” Reaching up, he trails a finger lightly down my cheek and I feel goosebumps spring up across the back of my neck. “Suppose you show me?” Oh my God, I’m a butterfly's whisper away from taking him up on that offer. What is wrong with me? Flustered, I continue to back away until I’m standing in the doorway of the bedroom but he somehow manages to stay flush with me, matching me step for step. “I don’t think so, sporto.” “Then I hope you won’t mind if I borrow that image to play with. If you aren’t going to keep me company in there, I’ll need something to reflect on while I…soap up.” “Be my guest.” I shrug nonchalantly, even though the mental picture of him soaping his naked body is weakening my resolve. “I intend to. And I'd appreciate it if you didn’t disturb me in the morning. I have a feeling I’ll be up, if you’ll pardon the pun, rather late tonight and I’d like to sleep in. Pleasant dreams, Felony.” With that, he shuts the door right in my face.About the Author I was born in a charming but microscopic town in Alabama with a book in each hand. Well, maybe not literally, but you get the idea. I don't think there's an author out there who didn't start out as an avid reader, and I'm no exception. It was only fairly recently that I decided to resurrect an old high school interest and once again began writing. There's something cathartic about breathing life into the quirky characters struggling to escape my imagination. These days I reside in the beautiful panhandle of Florida with my own blue-eyed Prince Charming and three fat, pampered cats who are just tolerant enough to permit us to share the same house with them. As long as they're fed on time, that is.

Allie is truly a remarkable author. Every time she tells me she has something new for me to read, I squeal like a little school girl. Each sentence is highly anticipated magic. Her last book Burning Down the House BLEW me away. But this, perfection. At the start we get a bit of mystery and suspense and you can already tell Allie will have you on the edge of your seat. Then we flash to the present time and Melanie is staying at her friend Leah's place to get away for a while and finish her book. Little did she know, a person from her past would come back into her life and turn her whole world upside down. And the last thing she ever expected was to start caring for the man who tormented her for years. The Firefly Effect was exhilarating, refreshing and a pure enjoyment to read. Some of my most favorite scenes from a book, ever. Enjoyed every moment and I think everyone will love it as much as I did :-)

“What was all that about? And what did you mean at the end there? You are a part of this
band, Griffin. You always have been, and you always will be.” Pushing him back a step, I snapped, “It’s a little late for the pep talk, bro. If you think I’m so valuable, you could have stood up for me in there.” I lifted my arms for emphasis. “It gave me the warm and fuzzies how you let him walk all over me.” Kellan sighed. “It’s complicated, Griff. Matt’s a genius on guitar…he’s…it’s his instrument, the one he’s born to play. But us saying that isn’t an insult to you. You’re amazing on bass, gifted even. It’s just…we each have our part, you know? And we have to do them the best we can.” He put a hand on my shoulder. “For the sake of the band, I’m asking you to let this go and just…forget about lead. Please?” I could only stare at him. I felt numb inside. Was this what giving up your dream felt like? For as long as I could remember, I’d wanted all eyes on me—I’d wanted to be the center of attention. Matt had never wanted that. But he was given the instrument that shone while I was given the one that everyone forgot about. My part was designed to blend, designed to go unnoticed. It was everything I wasn’t, and I was sick of being stuck with it. I wanted more, but they wouldn’t give me more. Without answering him, I turned and walked away, toward the house. What could I say to that anyway? Matt had just permanently rejected my chances at ever being lead guitar. Forgetting was the only thing left that I could do. Forget, or stew, and right now, I wanted to stew. When I got back to the living room, Jenny and Rachel were there working. “Need something, Griffin?” Jenny asked, her pale eyes practically sparkling with happiness. Ignoring both her good mood and her question, I called out for Anna. “She’s upstairs with Kiera,” Rachel quietly replied. Harrumphing some sort of thank-you, I began plodding my way to the stairs. Fucking stairs. I stomped up them, cursing my bandmates with each step. I imagined that the carpet treads under my feet were their squishy faces. I felt a little better by the time I reached the top. “Yo, Anna! Where are you?” Both Anna and Kiera instantly appeared in a bedroom door frame. Simultaneously, they both put fingers to their lips. “Shhhhhhh,” they both scolded. I was tired of being reprimanded today, so I didn’t lower my voice any. “Wake up Gibson. We’re leaving.” Anna instantly edged around Kiera to step into the hallway. “What’s wrong?” she asked me, while Kiera stepped out of the room behind her. The two sisters were pretty similar, but Anna definitely had a lot more curves than her slimmer and straighter sister. Generally I appreciated those curves, but at the moment, I just wanted to shove them into the car and get out of here. “There’s no point being here right now, so we’re leaving. Actually, there’s no point in ever coming back here, so we’re leaving.” I opened the door closest to me, hoping I’d find my sleeping daughter behind it. Nope. Empty. I moved to try another door, but Anna stepped in front of me. “Let’s go outside, get some fresh air.” Dramatically tossing my hands in the air, I gave up. “Fine.” What did it matter, since nothing was working for me today anyway? I headed back to those goddamn stairs while Anna told Kiera she’d be right back. Not waiting for my very pregnant wife, I sped down the steps and out the door. The fresh air on my face helped calm me down a little, but I was still riled up. I paced the front porch while I waited for Anna. Those sanctimonious assholes. “Griff?” A soft touch on my shoulder spooked me, and I jumped. Turning, I saw Anna behind me, her green eyes worried. “What’s going on?” She indicated the front step, and I grudgingly sat down. Once I was seated, my mood dropped. I’d started the day so positively, knowing without a shadow of a doubt that this tour was going to be the one. But not anymore. It was going to be the same old crap. Dropping my head, I slumped over. Anna sat beside me, and her fingers lightly caressed my back in a soothing pattern. It helped my residual anger, but not my rising disappointment. “One song. I asked for one fucking song…and they wouldn’t even give that to me…” I studied my fingers in my lap while my dreams dissolved in my hands. “Matt just told me that he’s not ever going to give me a chance to play lead, and the rest of the guys agreed with him. I’m done…forever stuck on bass…forever in the shadows. I just wanted one song, one moment in the spotlight.” With a sigh, I looked up at her. “Four minutes? Is that so much?” Anna’s eyes were heavy with sympathy. Reaching up, she threaded her fingers through my hair. “No…that’s not much at all.” I nodded and dropped my vision to my lap again. “Yeah, I didn’t think so either. But they can’t even give that to me.” The anger resurfaced, wrapping disappointment around it like a blanket. “Between me and you, babe, sometimes…I really don’t like those guys.” Anna kissed the back of my neck and wrapped an arm around my shoulder in sympathy. “I’m sorry, Griffin.” Closing my eyes, I let her comfort wash over me. At least there was one person on earth who gave a shit about me.
I was given a arc copy in exchange for my honest review.
We've all been eagerly awaiting Griffins story and he did not disappoint. It was magic. SC had outdone herself yet again. Griffin struggles with not feeling like he is important or that not one cares for him. He tries and he tries to get his opinion across or to change things up and the band blocks his ideas every turn. Griffin finally gets fed up and leaves the band. He wants something brighter and better for his future. All the while he is taking his family down a road of despair. Down his road to make himself known as a HUGE STAR, he crashes and burns, not only taking himself down, but his family and his former band. When it's basically too late he realizes what he has done and he vows to make it right. In the end he has one chance to win back his band and his family. Will he succeed? you will have to read to find out :-) Griffin's story was touching and enlightening. To see him grow up before our eyes was like watching one of our children grow. Haha. We all have that deep love and connection with Griffin. He was amusing and still is. This story was the best of Griffin and the worst. And it was perfection. Beautifully written. It made me laugh and cry. And I hope everyone will love it and enjoy it as much as I did :-) it was and always will be an honor reading this. And also, of course we also got to read the bands lives, their interactions, connections, even them all growing, and who doesn't love more Kellan Kyle and the D-Bags? :-) Well done, Shannon :-) well done! "Nobody puts the Hulk in the corner. Nobody." "You're a star too, babe. The brightest in my sky." "You're my kind of perfect, and really, mine is the only opinion that matters." "I love these girls with all my heart, but you're the best thing in my life. I'd be lost without you. " "Another baby? But you just had one. " ( Hahahaha I LOVE Gibson and Onnie hahaha) "I love you, and I'll go wherever you want me to go. I'll live wherever you want me to live, I'll do whatever you want me to do... just take me back. I can't be without you anymore. It's killing me." "The Hulk will see you now..." ( I died. Hahahahaha)

Excerpt “Are you nervous, Mr. Stewart?” She smirked. Her eyes were beaming playfully. “No, not at all.” My pitch came off higher than I had expected, and I was upset with myself. I had to fix that. “I mean—” I cleared my throat. Two can play at this game, I thought. I squared my shoulders and sat up tall. “So, Josefina Anders, let me ask you some questions before I decide if I want to hire you.” Her brows lifted, most likely wondering if I was being serious or joking. Dropping her crossed leg, she pulled the chair closer to the table. Josie pulled a piece of paper out of an envelope that I hadn’t seen a second ago, tucked away behind her back. She placed a resume on my desk. “Ask away.” “How long have you been a waitress?” “As long as I can remember. I got hired right after high school.” She pointed to her resume. “You can see that I’ve only worked at a few places, but I’m loyal and a good employee.” “You’ve been a waitress for a long time, Ms. Anders. Do you think you’ll ever get sick of it?” “Not if it means I get to see Mr. Stewart.” Her lips curled wickedly. “Do you wear thongs or granny panties?” Josie’s lips puckered, stopping herself from busting up. “Mostly thongs, but I’m not wearing anything under my skirt at the moment.” Holy shit! I was trying to make her blush, but this was backfiring. Ignoring her last words, though it was extremely difficult to do, since all I could do was envision her with her skirt off, I continued, “Do you like to be on top or bottom?” “I will be in whatever position pleases Mr. Stewart. I’m very flexible.” Available for download at: http://amzn.to/1fKfMvA |

Will Seth’s connection for Josefina be strong enough to see past her secrets, or will he realize he can’t rekindle an old flame?
Excerpt
When she pulled away to look at me, our eyes locked and thousands of emotions rocketed through me. I felt so much, almost too much for my heart to handle…for my body to control. My hands glided up her back, and the soft silky blouse lured me to rip it off her. Lacing through her hair with my hands, I gave in to the temptation I could no longer control and kissed her in madness. Josie kissed me back and her tongue swirled in hunger. I got hard when she rocked back and forth on me. I thought I could come just from this action alone. I wanted so much of Josie, but not here…not now.

I started writing Crossroads after my grandmother passed away. When these characters came to life in my mind, along with the character Gamma, inspired by my grandmother, it was a way for me to heal. I decided to start from a dream I had in high school, chapter one. Chapter two is also based on my dream as well. I didn’t think I would have much to write about, but when I made Claudia to be more like me, it was easy. Her first car, her first job, her first experience at camping and her grandmother having a stroke was all part of me. Too bad Michael wasn’t real…lol!!
Many people like Davin, which I’m really happy about because his character was inspired by my friend who passed away. He was very likable and was a best friend to all his friends. Patty is my friend from church. She is exactly how I described her, social butterfly who knows everything about her friends and fashion. I named Claudia after a student I once had many years ago. I can still picture her face, just like an angel. When I was much younger, I had a crush on a boy name Michael, but his character is based off my husband, protective, romantic, and silly at times. No… he doesn’t have wings…lol!!!
Though I was busy with work, being a wife, a mother, and PTA president, I would always find time to write, even if that meant typing while I was cooking or brushing my teeth. Crossroads was written for a fast, fun reading with likable characters. Many have emailed me to let me know how Crossroads has helped them escaped from their everyday stress. Also, how they’ve connected to this book because of chapter one, having a loved one passed away.
I took on a journey not knowing how rewarding it would be for me. I’ve meet so many wonderful people from all over the world through facebook, goodreads and blog sites. I’ve made everlasting friendship where friendship knows no boundaries. And I have to thank my grandmother who continues to watch over me from Heaven.
